Rhode Island Fire Laws and Rules Annotated, 1999-2000 Edition 23-28.35-2. Location of detectors. (a) An approved smoke detector shall be located in the access space immediately adjacent to bedrooms or sleeping rooms. Bedrooms, or sleeping rooms, separated by other use areas, such as kitchens or living rooms, but not bathrooms, shall require a separate smoke detector. In those occupancies where bedrooms open directly into the kitchen, the smoke detector shall be located in the bedroom(s). |
